The ISA has relocated its central operations to Pittsburgh, PA.
As a student, your responsibilities (without which the school will not exist) will be to:
- Attend all seminars/classes
- Demonstrate rigorous involvement with your work
- Participate fully in the discussion and development of the work of fellow students
- Help in scouting and securing locations for class meetings
- Take part in one or more core-groups, which are responsible for various school functions such as events and publications
- Agree to at least ten hours of barter service for the school or teacher/lecturer. Barter services will be based on your talents, hobbies, and interests and could include things such as: website maintenance, baking, tutoring, baby-sitting, lawn mowing, skill teaching, errand running, clothes mending, invitation designing, dog walking, food shopping, etc.
- Complete an introductory assignment in which you earn $100 in a week without getting a job. The proceeds will go towards the school budget to pay for lecturers, workshop guests, and equipment expenses
In order to apply to the ISA, you will need to submit:
- A letter or email about yourself and your practice
- Some documentation of your work (ideally in digital form as an email attachment, otherwise feel free to send slides, cd, or dvd with a stamped return address envelope)
- Three references (no letters, just phone and email contact info)
